ADMISSION RULE FOR POST-GRADUATE CLASSES ELIGIBILTY CONDITIONS
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

1 There are 30 seats in MA English which will be filled strictly on merit.

2 Age: Boys and girls should not have attained the age of 26yrs and 28yrs. respectively on 1st July 2016 for general category. Relaxation of 3yrs. for SC/ST.

3 Since Post Graduation is semester based, the dates for admission to various semesters in MA classes will be put on the college notice-board from time to
time.

4 Last date for submission of applications for admission to MA English 1st Semester is 9th of July 2016. Conselling will be held on 25 June 2016 at 10:30
am. Merit list will be displayed on 30 June 2016 at 2:00 pm. Selected candidates will have to deposit admission fee from 21st to 30th June 2016. Regular
classes will start w.e.f. 1st July 2016. Admission to MA 2nd Semester will be made in the 2nd week of July 2016.

5 For MA in English 45% in concerned subject or 50% marks in aggregate Merit will be determined on the basis of following formula:(Aggregate marks
obtained in TDC + marks obtained in English in TDC I,II,III)
÷( Total Marks in TDC +300)
5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST

Weightage:

i) For MA English 5% credit will be given to those who have studied English (Elective) in UG Course

ii) 2% Credit for NSS/NCC certificate

iii) 3% Credit for national participation in NCC

iv) 5% Credit for International representation

v) 10% for Honours course if PG subject is the same.

Note : (Only one of the maximum credit will be given out of the five above)

Reservation

1. 15% and 7.5% seats will be reserved for SC/ST candidates who have passed their qualifying exam from HP University Shimla-5.

2. 25% seats shall be open-irrespective of the institution.

3. 75% seats are for those candidates who have studied from HP University Shimla.

Note: Admission will be made in accordance with the university Roster 1-120 successively year wise.

MODE OF ADMISSION FOR BCA/BBA

(A) Subsidized Seats :-

The admission shall be based on Competitive/written entrance test which shall consist of 60 questions of 60 marks and of one hour duration comprising three parts viz. Mathematics, Logical Ability, English and General Awareness. Selected candidates will have to appear in the personal interview.

If the number of applicants for the course is fewer than or equal to the number of seats allocated, admissions will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2.,

There shall be no Re-Evaluation/Re-Checking of Answer-Book of Entrance Test under any circumstances. (As Per HPU ordinances volume-H page 19)

TO RESOLVE A TIE:

(a) In case of tie, the candidate having higher aggregate marks in the qualifying examination shall be admitted first

(b) If the tie is still not resolved, the candidate older in age will be admitted first.

RESERVATION OF SEATS

Admission to the course shall be subject to the following conditions:

(a) 15% and 7.5% scats shall be reserved for SC&ST candidates respectively, who have passed their qualifying examination from H.P. Board of School Education or any other school located within the territorial juristic on’ of H.P. or any other school board e.g. CBSE or ICSE etc.

(b) 3%of the seats shall be reserved for physically challenged candidates.

(c) The remaining 74.5% seats shall be filled as under:-

(i) 75% of the seats shall be filled out of the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from H.P. Board of School Education or any other school located within the territorial jurisdiction of H.P. or any other school board e.g. CBSE or ICSE etc.

25% of the seats for admission shall be open for all the candidates irrespective of the institution from where they have passed their qualifying examination.

(B) NON-SUBSIDIZED SEATS:

This applies only to NRIs and Payment Categories. In case of NRIs, this scheme admits students as per the merit in the last examinations passed by the candidate.

PROOF OF STATUS IN THE CASE OF NRI’S:

For this purpose, any of the following documents shall be considered as a proper

proof:

(a) Copy of the Non-resident card/Employment card issued by the employers.

(b) Photocopy of the immigration card/employment VISA entry on the passport along with details of passport.

(c) Certificate issued by Indian Embassy/high commission in the country where NRI is residing.

(d) Photocopy of the latest assessment order of income Tax Authorities either in India or the country of Employment filled in the status of NRIs.

In case of non-availability of NRIs, the seats under non-subsidized category will be filled as per the consolidated merit in application rating, written test, group discussion and interview. No reservation of any kind will be given under this category.

The H.P.University 120 points roaster is being followed for admission to BCA and reservation of various categories for the session 2016-17 shall be followed from 01 to 60.
