A plethora of scholarship opportunities awaits both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students enrolled at our college. These scholarships have been designed to provide financial support and recognize academic excellence. To access these opportunities, students are encouraged to submit their applications through the National Scholarship Portal, which serves as a centralized platform for various scholarship schemes. Additionally, science students have the distinct privilege of applying for the prestigious INSPIRE Scholarship, which is accessible through the dedicated INSPIRE Portal. This scholarship program aims to foster a passion for science and innovation among young scholars. It is noteworthy that our institution has a commendable track record in facilitating these scholarship opportunities, with more than 150 students benefiting from these schemes annually. This not only reflects the commitment of our students to academic excellence but also underscores our institution’s dedication to supporting their educational pursuits by making these scholarships readily accessible. 1). POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SC STUDENTS

Under this Scheme, all SC students whose parents/guardian’s annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2,50,000/-, are eligible for a full scholarship (i.e. Maintenance Allowance + Compulsory Fee) for all courses, provided they are pursuing their studies in Govt./Govt. Under this Scheme, all OBC/EBC/DNT unemployed students whose parent’s annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2,50,000/-, are eligible for full scholarship (i.e. Maintenance Allowance + Compulsory Fee) for all courses, provided they are pursuing their studies in Govt. / Govt. Aided / Recognized Private Recognized Institutions, as regular students.

4). KALPNA CHAWLA CHHATRAVRITY YOJNA FOR GIRLS

This is a State Sponsored Scheme started in the year 2012-13. Under this Scheme, the top 2000 meritorious girl students of 10+2 of all study groups i.e. Science, Arts and Commerce streams are awarded a scholarship of Rs 18000/- per student p.a., based on passing ratio in each group as per the merit list supplied by the H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala. The scholarship will be renewed till the completion of the Degree / Diploma / Certificate course, provided there is no failure.

6). INDIRA GANDHI UTTKRISHTA CHHATRAVRITY YOJNA

This is a State Sponsored Scheme started in the year 2005-06. Under this Scheme, the top 150 meritorious students of 10+2 of all study groups i.e. Science, Arts and Commerce streams are awarded a scholarship of Rs 18000/- per student p.a., purely on the basis of merit without any income ceiling. The scholarship will be awarded to 10 toppers each from the merit of 10+2 Arts, science and commerce supplied by H.P. Board of School Education Dharamsala, provided the students join any academic/professional stream. The scholarship will also be awarded to the 10 toppers from the merit list of BA/B.Com./ & B.Sc. The scholarship will be renewed to the same number of students till they complete the degree/course which they pursue.

7). MAHARISHI BALMIKI CHHATERVRITI YOJNA

This is a State Sponsored Scheme started from the year 2003-04. Under this Scheme scholarship of Rs 18000/- per student p.a., will be paid to all the girl students of BALMIKI families. The scholarship will be renewed to the same number of students till they complete the degree/course which they pursue.

The Institution will forward the duly attested printed form (after successful online verification) along with the Verified Candidate List(s) (on the prescribed format) to this Directorate (in case of Universities / Private Recognized Colleges / Professional / Technical / Other Institutes / All Out of state institutes), for online verification & safekeeping. 6. Certificate from the competent authority of Himachal Pradesh for belonging to the Balmiki family. The certificate in respect of working in unclean occupation may be obtained for the Head of Office in which the parents are working.

 

8). CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

 

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of the Senior Secondary Examination.  82000 fresh scholarships per annum [41000 for boys and 41000 for girls] are awarded for pursuing graduate / postgraduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.  50 % of the scholarship is earmarked for girls.  The number of scholarships allotted to a State Education Board is distributed amongst passouts of the Science, Commerce and Humanities streams in the ratio of 3:2:1.  In case of a shortfall in the number of applications, the scholarship slots could be interchanged. 

Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective  Board of Examination in Class XII of  10+2 pattern or equivalent and pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in Colleges/Institutions recognized by All India Council of Technical Education, UGC Act, 1956, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India and respective regulatory authorities and not availing the benefit of any other scholarship scheme including State-run scholarship schemes/Fee waiver and reimbursement scheme are eligible under the scheme. Students pursuing Diploma courses are not eligible under the scheme.

Students belonging to reserved categories/weaker sections /minorities are eligible on the basis of merit, subject to the Central Reservation Policy and internal earmarking. Reservations for the various categories are as follows:  Scheduled Castes (SCs) 15 % , Scheduled Tribes ( STs) 7.5 %, Other Backward Classes(OBCs) 27 % and horizontally  5 % for Physically Handicapped / Persons(s) with Disabilities (PwDs) in all the categories.

The rate of scholarship is Rs.12000/- per annum at the Graduation level for the first three years of College and University courses and Rs.20000/- per annum at Post- Graduation level.  Students pursuing professional courses, in case, where the duration of the course is five (5) years/Integrated course would get Rs.20000/- per annum in the 4th and 5th year.  However, students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech., and B.Engg would  get scholarships up to  graduation level.   

The parental/family income ceiling is Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum for all categories under the scheme and would be applicable from the Academic Session 2018-19.   An income certificate would be required for fresh applicants only.   

A student will be eligible for the scholarship for a total duration not exceeding 5 years. A scholarship under the scheme is renewable on a year-to-year basis up to the graduate level in the same stream (except for the students pursuing technical courses leading to a degree at the graduation level).

 9). ‘POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES

Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. A total of five (05) lakh scholarships are targeted to be distributed as ‘Fresh’ Scholarships, besides, Renewal scholarships. The distribution of scholarship among the States/Union Territories will be made based on population of minorities in the States/Union Territories as per Census 2001 for 2017-18 and as per the population of minorities in the States/Union Territories of Census 2011 for 2018-19 and 2019-20 (as per Appendices- A & B). Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh. Students must pass the examination from Govt. / Govt. Aided institutions. Students under this Scholarship Scheme, need to apply online at, as per the following schedule, and no offline application form will be accepted.

30% scholarship is earmarked for girls students of each minority community in a State/UT which is transferable to male students of that community in case of the non-availability of female students in that community in the concerned State/UT. 30% is the floor and not the ceiling for eligible girl students.

RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of a certificate that the student has secured 50% marks in the previous year’s examination (provided the student pursues the same course and same Institute/School).

MODE OF APPLYING

The scheme is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in.

INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS (to be filled by the students in online application form are as under):

(i)                  Students must select their bank/branch name carefully from the drop down list.

(ii)                Thereafter the complete account no. must be entered correctly. Students are suggested to get their account number verified by their concerned Bank Branch including Bank account number and IFS Code.

(iii)              Disclaimer (*If bank details entered by students are found incorrect or not validated by the student’s bank, the scholarship will be canceled/amount will not be transferred even though the application is approved for scholarship).

(iv)              (Bank Account holders must check their ‘Know your Customer’ (KYC) status from bank and if required the KYC must be done for successful transaction of scholarship amount.

(v)                 Bank Account must be operational/active till the scholarship is disbursed.

(vi)               Bank Account must be preferably in any scheduled Bank with core banking facility and proper IFS Code.

(vii)             Bank Account must be in the name of the student/applicant only.

CONDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP

(i)                  Scholarship will be awarded to the students studying in Classes XI and XII including technical and vocational courses of this level including Polytechnics, ITIs, and other courses.

(ii)                An Income Certificate, issued from a Competent Authority in the State/UT Governments is required in respect of parent/guardian of the student.

(iii)              A Self-Certified Community Certificate is required from the student who has attained 18 years of age. For others the Community Certificate certified by parent/guardian of the student is required.

(iv)              The continuance of award (for Renewal applicants) will be subject to securing 50% marks in the previous year’s examination (provided the students pursues the same course and same Institute/School).

(v)                Maintenance allowance will be provided to hostellers and day scholars.

(vi)              Scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family (applicable for all Scholarship schemes meant for minorities under this Ministry taken together).

(vii)            Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.

(viii)          The school/institute will certify the claim of student of being an outstation student not residing in hostel of the school/institute concerned on the basis of permanent address and parents’ address.

(ix)              Migration of students from one school/institute to another is not allowed for renewal applicants during the period of academic course.

(x)                If a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship, scholarship may be suspended or cancelled. The State Government/Union Territory Administration can also directly cancel the award if duly satisfied of the reasons of violation of these regulations governing the scheme.

(xi)              If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, his/her scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered by the concerned State/UT Govt.

(xii)            The course/tuition fees and maintenance allowance will be credited to the student’s account directly under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

(xiii)          The student obtaining benefits under this scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other scheme for this purpose.

(xiv)          A student shall be eligible for only one scholarship out of all the available Scholarships of Central Government meant for SC/ST/OBC/ minority.

(xv)            The amount of Administrative Expenses (@ 2%) for States/UTs in subsequent Page 4 of 5 year shall be released after receiving the utilization certificate for the previous years.

(xvi)          The scheme will be evaluated at regular intervals by the Ministry or any other agency designated by the Ministry and the cost of the evaluation will be borne by the Ministry of Minority Affairs under the provision of the scheme.

(xvii)         The State/Union Territory shall place all relevant details of financial and physical achievements on their website.

(xviii)       The regulations can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.

(xix)           It will be necessary for the eligible applicants to provide an Aadhaar number while applying for the scholarship and in case, an individual does not possess Aadhaar one can provide the details of alternative identification documents, as stated in the Gazette Notification- S.O. No. 1284 (E) No. 1137, dated 21.04.2017 (as per Appendix-C).

 

(xx)            Students who have entered Aadhaar in their online application correctly and Aadhaar seeded with any of their bank accounts, in such cases, the amount of scholarship will be credited to Aadhaar seeded bank account only (though student has mentioned any other non-seeded bank account in online application).
